Memorial Day Weekend....

I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend! We had quite the busy but fun weekend ourselves. On Saturday Rick and I took Jackson to our pool for a couple of hours, in the kid area there is a giant bucket that dumps over a massive amount of water every 5 mins or so and Jackson was TERRIFIED of it. Its quite funny from my child who is quite fearless these days, nothing seems to phase him anymore falls, bumps, but this bucket was sure awful!!! The bucket does stop every hr for a while and he really enjoyed playing then.
On Sunday we had 2 BBQ's to go to, one for church and one at a friend's house. So we left the house at 915am and headed to church. Jackson played with the kids there non stop he hardly sat down to eat. At about 130pm we left to go the next BBQ and he passed out before we left the church driveway. Got to the next BBQ and he was go go going with the kids there! He only napped for a 1/2 hour in the car, with the energy he had you would have thought he slept for days! The kids swam and played in the kiddie pool for a good 2 hrs then took a break and went back in. We totally have a water baby on our hands! We got home about 7pm and did our bedtime routine and he was asleep by 8pm and didn't wake up till 8 the next morning!
Monday was a another day at the pool and we had some friends over to here to BBQ. So I guess I could have spared ya'll this long blog and just said we swam and BBQ'd all weekend! It was a great weekend though.
A side note, from Jackson's last apt. he is 30lbs and 33 inches with a big ole' head still, growing perfectly and remaining 80th percentile for weight and height and 95th for head.

Jackson is 1 1/2 yrs old today!

I can't believe how quickly time has flown.....it feels like yesterday he was in my belly! Its amazing how much he has changed in such a short period of time.

Tomorrow we have his 18 month apt. so I will get his stats then but I thought I would just jot down what he is doing lately...

He LOVES LOVES LOVES being outside any chance we get he wants to go out there. He runs everywhere and is always on the go but he will take the time to sit and relax sometimes which is nice. Jackson doesn't say too many words yet(6 or 7, shoes being his latest)...still a lot of his own jibber jabber, its hilarious to watch him have a conversation with us with hand gestures and all but not understand a word he is saying. He understands a lot and can point out most body parts and imitate animal noises, a lion is his favorite of course! He enjoys praying before all meals (by praying I mean he folds his hands throughout the prayer and when we say amen he claps) on Sat. when we went out to dinner he made us pray 5 times...I am sure people thought we were in some weird religious cult or something. Also, he is SO independent when it comes to eating now, he wants to do everything all by himself, he is really good with his utensils and enjoys using his big boy (not sippy) cup. Jackson loves playing ball...he actually has a pretty good arm for a little guy. He's got 10 teeth right now and slowly working on a few more, mommy wishes they would come through already. He is totally into his books, you will find him sitting in his room sometimes just quietly flipping through them all. Our bedtime routine includes his favorite books, Corduroy , Good Night Moon and his baby Bible.

I guess that is all for right now, sorry its kind of a novel, I am sure I missed a ton too! We are thankful we have such a happy, healthy and sweet little man....God has really blessed us!

Mother's Day

I guess my mother's day technically started last night when Rick took me out to dinner at a delicious Italian restaurant....but my only requests for mother's day was to sleep in and have a starbucks waiting for me when I woke up. Sure enough I got my requests and was more than happy...I slept in till 830am...how sad is that that I now consider that sleeping in!! It was only an hour after Jackson had got up! Then we went to breakfast with Grandma Karla and Great Grandpa Keith. This evening Rick will be grilling ( I am very excited about not cooking dinner) and we will be enjoying the beautiful day here! I hope all you momma's out there had a wonderful Mother's Day too!!

Early Cinco De Mayo party....

Jackson went to his very first cinco de mayo party yesterday. He hardly would let me take a picture of him before we left, the one of him pointing to the sky an airplane was flying by so it was very distracting! He had a pretty good time but the poor little guy's last molar is breaking its way through (got one corner popped through) so he wanted to call it quits early! Although he was actively trying to get the beers but failed everytime! So mommy took him home and gave him a bath, read a few books and put him in his crib to go "nite nite" and when I was leaving his room he lifted up his head, he usually lets out a little whine at that time, but this time he was like "whatever lady just leave", don't have much of a party animal on my hands (guess he's taking after mommy).

Then Grandma Karla stayed with Jackson while I went back to the party to be with Rick and hang out with our friends. We got home at midnight.....WWWHHHEWWW...we are animals!!! :0)

The first of many...

So, I thought this would be a great way for our family and friends that are not always near to keep informed about our family. Its not always easy to remember to send out mass emails and there is plenty to share about Jackson and what a big boy he is becoming. SO I hope you all enjoy this....love to everyone of you!

Today Jackson got his 3rd haircut of his life, and I know some of you are thinking...yeah so?? But the last 2 times he was a super cry baby the whole time....well this time there was not a peep from him. He actually enjoyed it (of course with the help of a lollipop)! Although getting his hair cut makes him look like such a little man, I still love the clean cut which enables me to see his precious face easier! When taking the picture below...his new thing is to say "cheeeeesseeee" oh so cute (also I promise next time it won't be taken with my cell phone, camera is dead)!
